Transforming Crisis into Opportunity: A Journey to Self-Discovery and Fulfillment

Transforming Crisis into Opportunity: A Journey to Self-Discovery and Fulfillment

“I came to Ginny for help with a work crisis, but 3 years later, I’ve created a whole new life for myself.”

Lori always knew she wanted to be a doctor. Driven by a deep desire to be of service, she devoted herself to the grueling training, certain it would all be worth it.

She checked all the boxes – medical school, opening her own clinic and serving thousands of patients – but Lori was not happy.

Instead, she was consumed by her work. Long days of patient care were followed by long evenings and weekends of paperwork. This was her calling and her patients were her responsibility; perfection felt like the only option. As worry and hypervigilance dominated her life, fun and recreation fell away, a distraction she could not afford.

Lori woke up every day and thought, “Why is my life so hard?”

Chronic exhaustion and stress chipped away at Lori. Her self-confidence plummeted. The little time off she had, she could not enjoy because there were so many patients to see and so much work waiting for her when she returned. She put on twenty pounds, and she felt disconnected from herself and her husband.

Then, at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, professional crisis struck. Lori was going to lose the group medical practice she spent a decade growing if she didn’t find a solution within three months. All the personal and financial sacrifices she made for the practice would be for nothing.

A few months prior, she was introduced to the law of attraction by a neuropsychiatrist. Reading up on the science of LOA and quantum physics helped bridge the gap between Lori’s rational mind and spirituality. Then she discovered the Manifest It Now podcast. The topics resonated deeply, and Lori was drawn to Ginny’s magnetic energy. She was funny, relatable and down to earth. Lori felt like she knew her already, like she was an old friend, someone Lori could trust.

But Lori was trained to help others, not to need help herself. Yet the work crisis pushed her to do something she would never have done before: look up Ginny’s website and send her a message.

On their first call, Lori felt instantly comfortable with Ginny. Though being open and vulnerable was foreign to Lori, Ginny – with her calm and non-judgmental vibe – made it easy.

One of Ginny’s foundational teachings – everything is for you – was life changing for Lori who had always felt that everything was happening to her. Learning to not to judge things as bad, to assume that all things are for her good, allowed Lori to start seeing possibility instead of limitation. She learned she had the power to choose her thoughts and the “stories” she was telling herself about herself, others and her life. This helped her stop taking other’s actions personally. It also opened a new world of self-compassion Lori had never experienced. She learned to give herself grace and release the judgements she had about herself.

One of Lori’s limiting beliefs was you have to struggle to succeed. Ginny asked, “What if you could have everything you want without struggle?”

But to have a life without struggle, without striving and hypervigilance, Lori would have to surrender control. And control – of her environment, herself, her work, her emotions – was what held Lori’s life together. It’s how she had succeeded as a physician. How was she going to just let go?

Lori had no idea, but she was willing to learn. So she put her trust in Ginny, in Ginny’s belief and confidence, borrowing it until she had her own. Ginny was solid in her energy and that was enough to help Lori believe.

Lori trusted the process of coaching and leaned into the idea that she could flow with life. Ginny showed her how to align her energy with the solution rather than the problem and helped Lori know her power to choose her life.

Perhaps the greatest challenge in coaching was, after a lifetime of hiding her emotions, learning how to feel her feelings. Ginny taught Lori a vocabulary for emotions, how to feel them and allow them to flow through her.

Then, seven weeks into coaching, Lori manifested the solution to save her practice. Crisis averted, she was relieved, but knew it was just the beginning. She was still out of balance and feeling trapped and depleted in her work. Deeper change was needed. She joined the Truth Tribe for group coaching with Ginny.

Because regardless of all her achievements, Lori did not believe she was good enough. Her fear of losing focus and making a mistake, was really about her fear of failing as a doctor. Being a doctor was her entire identity, how she proved her value. Her striving, perfectionism and workaholic tendencies were all motivated by the same fear – that if she showed people her true self, they would reject her.

But Lori longed to know herself, to live a life of joy, balance and fulfillment. She had spent her life giving to everyone else, doing what was needed of her. It was time to ask what she needed of herself.

What if Lori could understand her inherent worth apart from her success? What if being a doctor wasn’t all she was?

With Ginny’s guidance and the support of the community, Lori slowly began to believe she was worth a life with her at the center. The Truth Tribe was the first time she has been amongst a group of women and felt totally seen, supported and free to be herself.

These internal shifts lead naturally to external changes.

As Lori released the need to prove her worth through struggle, she transformed her work life. She restructured her workdays to be less demanding but also more efficient so there was less work cutting into her personal time. She created Wednesday “flow” days that were free of patient care – time for meetings, personal appointments, or to pursue her own passions. Even her more challenging patient interactions started to go smoothly. She felt more joy and ease throughout her days and learned how to ground herself before stressful events.

By learning to feel her feelings and sit with discomfort, Lori’s need for emotional eating dissipated and she lost twenty pounds without having to restrict food, count calories, or intensive exercise. She naturally gravitated to healthier foods and more movement.

She also created a new belief about joy: the more joy she feels, the better she can serve everyone, including herself. Lori now feels deserving to do nice things with her husband, to have a romantic evening, to spend time together, without feeling like she is taking away from something, or someone else. Their marriage is thriving.

Through coaching, Lori has created a life she loves. One full of kindness and compassion for herself, full of self-confidence, ease, joy and peace.

Ginny helped Lori return to her own sense of agency and power in her life, to make decisions from a place of wholeness rather than proving.

“Law of attraction was at work in my life before I even knew what it was. My true desires were already out in the Universe. If you’re someone who is thinking about coaching with Ginny, trust that she has crossed your path for a reason.”
